I had a great conversation with a nurse not too long ago about how confidence plays such a big role in the ability of a nurse. It got me thinking about the great quote “If you don’t believe in yourself, no one else will” (not sure who to attribute it to). It pains me when I see nurses doubt themselves and their abilities when what they do everyday is so noble and right. So much of being a nurse is education, methodology, formulas, safety, but also about gut feelings, experiences, and hunches that you know are just right. So much about success in life, both career and outside of the nursing profession is about knowing deep down that you will be successful and believing in yourself. So make today the day that you renew your “believe in yourself ” mantra and watch the impact you make on all the peoples lives you touch.
